What opens the window?
- The person sends you a DM.
- They reply to your story or react to a message.
- They tap a button in a message you sent.
Each of these resets the 24-hour clock.
What about comments?
A comment does not open the full 24-hour window. Instead, it allows one private reply to that comment, within 7 days. When the person replies to that DM, the normal 24-hour window starts.

Can you message after 24 hours?
Meta has a "human agent" tag that allows a person (not a bot) to reply for up to 7 days for genuine support. It is not for automated marketing. FameChamp does not use it for automations.

Does the 24-hour rule apply to replies I type myself in the Instagram app?
The rule applies to messages sent through the API, such as automation tools and connected inboxes. Replying by hand in the Instagram app works differently.
Why did my follow-up nudge not send?
Most often the person had not interacted in the last 24 hours, so the message was skipped to follow Instagram's rules.
